What Apps are on my iPhone (Photography)?

One of my FAQs on Instagram is how I edit my pictures and what apps I use. I have decided to create a post summarizing these.

Here is a list of Photography/Editing apps for mobile that I use when editing my posts for my IG feed.

This is probably my most frequently used app on my iPhone especially when it comes to edits. The Vsco app is extremely user friendly and perfect for creating certain colour themes and mood boards. There are over 50 different presets and categories, depending on what your end goal is. The basic version of this app is free, with a yearly subscription of $20/Yr, you can unlock a wide range of the presets. My favorite thing about this app is its community presence, you have the ability to create a profile and share some of your favorite shots with the community you follow. You can also learn photography tips with their weekly challenges posted up on the discover page.

I stumbled on this app by accident and ever since I found it, it has changed my photography skills. This app would totally take your pictures from basic to editorial standards in just one click. It is the perfect app to achieve that glowy, studio finished look in most beauty editorials. If you take a lot of beauty up close pictures then this app should be favorited on your phone. You can smoothen images and airbrush skin tone to perfection.

This is definitely one of my top 3 apps. I decided to revamp my IG feed in the fall last year and I adopted a fall theme. Preview app made that transition 10times easier because you can literally assemble your entire feed on there to have a better idea of what it’ll look like on your feed. You can also schedule posts and have them post automatically. The best part is that it has a variety of hashtags that are popularly used in different industries i.e Fashion blogger, Natural Hair, etc. If you are a content creator on IG you know how important the use of hashtags is in getting through to your target audience.

The toolkit for storytellers. Ever wonder how people come up with really cool IG stories? Allow me to introduce you to the app that’ll transform your IG stories. I get so frustrated when I’m trying to share a post on my IG story and it just doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing. I sometimes end up not sharing it as a whole if I can’t make it look visually pleasing. Unfold can help with sticking to a particular color scheme for all your IG stories. All you have to do is pick a theme, add images, text, and text if needed. It also has film frames for videos.

Adobe spark post for mobile is ideal for creating animated IG stories. It has an array of templates, you don’t have to fill pressured to create one from scratch. The only catch here is that you have to have an adobe account and then you can “remix” templates with your own twist. It is perfect for creating interactive IG story content, easy for creating product infographics.

Hopefully, these tips have helped in improving your photo editing skills and creating the ideal social media image you hope to portray. I really enjoyed putting this together so keep an eye out for “What apps are on my iPhone” Productivity episode.
